Grab your best friends and your Santa costume! Giving to charity and helping others who are in need are always great things to do. But this December, you can give to charity in a fun and exciting way – if you think you can handle it.
The annual Thomas Smith Christmas Charity Swim is a unique event in Malta that allows sponsors to support their favourite swimmer – or just a good friend – to brave the waters of December, all for a good cause.
What is it?
The annual event is organised in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund – and this year is the 19th year of being organised. You can check out the event and apply by clicking here.
Why is it awesome?
What’s really special about the Thomas Smith Christmas Charity Swim is that people of all ages and abilities are invited to attend – and everyone is super friendly there, so if you have a question or a problem just let them know!
Where will it be?
Attendees will be jumping off the pier near Independence Gardens in Sliema on the 17th of December – and everyone is invited!
Grab your favourite swimming toys, dress up as Santa, and channel the Christmas spirit for a day at the beach in December.
Count me in this year!
Last year’s event had to be cancelled at the last minute due to bad weather, but the team behind the charitable event will be making up for last year’s event with double the energy and excitement!
Not only that, but you could even nab a wet, wintery selfie with President Marie Louise Coleiro Preca, who is supporting this event.
Make sure you get there early though: registration starts at 09:30hrs and the swim will commence at 10:30hrs, and you don’t want to miss that! For regular updates follow the event page.
