Thomas Smith, Christmas Charity Swim,

Thomas Smith Group presented the funds raised, €8,000, during the 19th edition of the annual Christmas Charity Swim, to Her Excellency Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, President of Malta on 21st December at San Anton Palace. The amount collected was made up of €5700 from the public, while Thomas Smith topped up and rounded up the amount to €8000.

 

During the cheque presentation, Her Excellency, on behalf of Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation, thanked Thomas Smith Group once again for organising the Charity Swim on an annual basis and commended the Company for contributing towards the final amount of the €8,000 donated. Ever since its inception, the Group together with the swimmers’ donations have collected just over €110,000.

 

“The Thomas Smith Charity Swim is now an annual appointment on the calendar of events of the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation, and continues to attract a number of swimmers, expressing their solidarity and altruism,” said Joe Gerada, Managing Director at Thomas Smith Group. “We look forward to the 20th edition to be held in 2018, on Sunday 30th December.”

 

Joe Gerada together with Liana Cachia, Group Marketing & HR Manager, were this year accompanied by Luke Hyzler (representing Thomas Smith swimmers), Diandra Axisa (representing Thomas Smith volunteers), Mark Zammit and Janet Tanti (representing volunteers from the Civil Protection Department and Malta Red Cross respectively).

 

The 2017 Thomas Smith Charity Swim was supported by the Sliema Local Council, Civil Protection Department, Malta Red Cross, Malta Police Force, Drinks n’ More, X-Zone, H2Only, Għaqda Dilettanti Sajd Sliema, Vertex Vending Services, Deejay Arthur Garrett, WAVA Creative Advertising & Marketing, HIVE Information Systems, Karl Borg Events, Giorgio’s Cafe, Cara’s Cafe, Clyde Dolceria, Venscic Ltd., as well as many other supporters.
