Donation, Richmond Foundation

Thomas Smith staff presented two cheques to non-governmental organisations Richmond Foundation and Noah’s Ark Sanctuary. The money was raised by staff donations throughout the year 2015 in return for wearing casual attire to work. Every Friday is a Dress Down day at Thomas Smith Group, with the intent to collect donations from staff, and aid those in need. Randomly selected employees then nominate and vote the benefiting charities.

Daniela Calleja Bitar, Operations Manager at Richmond Foundation, received the donation of €1,000. Ms Calleja Bitar praised Thomas Smith staff for the support they have shown towards the initiative and its volunteers, and for choosing the Foundation as this will in turn raise awareness about mental health.

Fabio Ciappara, President of Noah’s Ark Dog Sanctuary, received the donation of €1,000. Mr. Ciappara thanked Thomas Smith employees for the generous amount which will go towards the running of the sanctuary.

Donations were presented by Liana Cachia, Thomas Smith Group Marketing & Human Resources Manager and Thomas Smith employees Giselle Farrugia and Roderick Cristina respectively.

Thomas Smith Group and its employees recognise the importance of the charitable organisations in Malta and their continual need for funding. Since the inception of Dress Down Fridays, the program has donated more than €24,500 to Thomas Smith staff who were in need, as well as local charities.
