Thomas Smith Cultural Event

Thomas Smith Group is excited to announce that it will be one of the main sponsors for this year’s Cultural Events Brand Malta (CEB) event entitled Electrifying Birgu, which shall take place on Saturday the 22nd September at the War Museum in Vittoriosa.

CEB successfully launched a new style of entertainment for all the family with its debut event Electrifying Elmo (at Fort St. Elmo) back in 2016. The concept behind CEB is to act as a platform for talented Maltese and Foreign street artists, musicians and entertainers; offering them the possibility to perform in various locations throughout the island.

Electrifying Birgu promises to be bigger and better than its predecessor. Once again buskers and a variety of renowned Maltese and foreign street entertainers and musicians will be performing throughout the evening.

On the main stage Red Electrick will perform a one-hour show, while off stage, international, award winning magician and escapologist Tony Roberts will entertain the public with his magic stunts.

Mr. Joe Gerada, Thomas Smith Group Managing Director, said “This is the first time Thomas Smith is supporting CEB. The event is an incredible opportunity for the Island to showcase some of its best cultural locations that often go unnoticed, while bringing street artists, musicians and lovers of culture together. We are thrilled with the evolution of the event, and hope it can become a yearly date in people’s diaries.”

Tickets for Electrifying Birgu at 15Eur are available from www.ticketline.com.mt and at the door (on a first come first served basis). Children under 12 enter free.

Thomas Smith Group will also be extending its support to the Malta Classic Grand Prix for the 7th consecutive year, as well as the 5th Obstacle Course Race organised locally by The Grid Events.

Classic car enthusiasts will be brought together to support local and international classic cars racing through thrilling bends and corners in Malta’s breathtaking sites. The weekend event will kick off with Thomas Smith’s very own Hill Climb on the 11th October, in the beautiful hills of Mtahleb.

Maersk Line containers will once again be a highlight at the upcoming Grid Sprint event, featuring as giant obstacles in Golden Bay and Riviera grounds, on Saturday 20th October. The event has attracted over 1,900 participants, reaching its objective to promote healthy living habits

“We are thrilled with the evolution of these high-profile sport events, drawing an international spotlight onto Malta” said Mr. Gerada.
