The Thomas Smith Annual Christmas Charity Swim due to be held on Sunday 18th December off the Sliema Pier, has been cancelled due to unfavourable weather conditions. The Company, after consultation with the Civil Protection Department, has decided to hold off the event since the sea swell could be potentially hazardous to swimmers.
This is the first time in 18th years that the event held under the patronage of the Office of the President has had to be cancelled. Participants who have already collected sponsorships are still able to hand in their donation up until Wednesday 21st December. Thomas Smith will be presenting their donation to H.E. Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, President of Malta at San Anton Palace on Thursday 22nd December.
